A lovely beachy and everyday vest that’s perfect for summer – my Crochet Everyday Simple Draped Vest – is a free pattern here on the blog.
Finally I shared a vest crochet pattern. I made this simple draped vest for my last year holiday in Bali. The broken white color can be combined with any color of clothes and it’s nice to be used everyday.
It was hard to choose what types of crochet stitches to use for this vest. It should be a fast and simple project, so I worked the vest with treble cross stitch. I shared how to treble cross stitch in another post HERE.
This simple vest is crocheted in a piece of rectangle parts without seam. No need to increase or decrease. That drape and fit is all a product of the yarn I chose, not fancy shaping!
At first I measured it wrong, so I had to add more rows in different direction before worked the edging. It hardly be seen that there are additional rows at the bottom of the vest, the stitch blends almost perfectly.

Notes
I used small ply Balinese cotton yarn (8 ply sport yarn) and Tulip hook no 3/0 (2.25 mm hook).
I folded the back a bit as worked the edging for opening part. This is optional.
