Hello, my fellow crocheter! I’m happy to share Unyil the little boy amigurumi free crochet pattern on this blog post. Unyil is a character of Si Unyil puppet show from my nation Indonesia. When I was little, I loved watching Si Unyil puppet show on television. This show was broadcasting at national television station in 1981-2003.
All characters of Si Unyil are hand puppets with the physical appearances of ordinary Indonesian faces. Traditional touch is strongly apparent in the show, from the suit of every characters to the stories that dealing with everyday life.
Due to technological developments, Si Unyil puppet show no longer airs. Then it was replaced by the television program Laptop si Unyil (Unyil’s Laptop) and Buku Harian si Unyil (Unyil’s Diary). Then an animated film was made, entitled Petualangan si Unyil (The Adventures of Unyil). Thus, the character of Unyil and friends will continue to be remembered in Indonesian people hearts.
