Chibi Basic Body Crochet Pattern

Hi, my fellow crocheters. This time I shared chibi basic body crochet pattern. I usually use this crochet pattern as the basis for some of the anime characters amigurumi that I made. This crochet pattern is easy for beginners.
You can freely using chibi basic body pattern to make your own amigurumi design. Change the color as you wish, add hair or other accessories. It’s really fun!

Notes
This amigurumi is about 8 cm (3.15 inches) tall.
I used small ply Balinese cotton yarn (sport yarn) and Tulip hook no. 3 (2.25 mm).
The similar yarn you can use is Schachenmayr Catania (100% cotton, 125 m, 50 g, sport – 5 ply / Fine).
Its size may vary according to the materials you used. You can easily make larger sizes by using larger weight yarns and hook.
Feel free to change the colors and add ornaments to create your own amigurumi.
Materials
Sport yarns:
– skin tone
(I used less than a 125m/50g ball of yarn when making this project)
2.25 mm crochet hook
Polyester fill
Tapestry needle
Marker
Scissors
Abbreviations (US Term)
MR = magic ring
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
inc = sc increase (2 sc in next stitch)
dec = sc decrease (join next 2 sts into 1)
sl st = slip stitch
Legs
Round 1: MR, 6 sc (6)
Round 2: *2 sc, inc* 2 times (8)
Round 3: *3 sc, inc* 2 times (10)
Round 4: sc in each stitch (10)
Cut the yarn. Work the second leg. Do not cut the yarn on the second leg, continue to work the body.

Body
Round 5: 2 ch, 10 sc in first leg, sc in 2 ch, 10 sc in second leg, sc in 2 ch (24)
Round 6-7: sc in each stitch – 2 rounds (24)
Round 8: *6 sc, dec* 3 times (21)
Round 9: sc in each stitch (21)
Fill as you go
Round 10: *5 sc, dec* 3 times (18)
Round 11: sc in each stitch (18)
Round 12: *dec, 4 sc* 3 times (15)
Round 13: *dec, 3 sc* 3 times (12)
Fill as you go
Round 14: *1 sc, dec, 1 sc* 3 times (9)
Continue to work the head.
Head
Round 1: *inc* 9 times (18)
Round 2: *1 sc, inc* 9 times (27)
Round 3: *8 sc, inc* 3 times (30)
Round 4-10: sc in each stitch – 7 rounds (30)
Round 11: *dec, 3 sc* 6 times (24)
Fill as you go
Round 12: *dec, 2 sc* 6 times (18)
Round 13: *dec, 1 sc* 6 times (12)
Round 14: *dec* 6 times (6)
Fill before close the hole.
Fasten off.
Arms (make 2)
Round 1: MR, 6 sc (6)
Round 2-5: sc in each stitch – 4 rounds (6)
sl st, turn, 2 sc, sl st.
No need to fill the arms.
Leave a long end for sewing.
Sew arms on Round 12 of the body.
